To absorb moisture and help protect skin from chafing and irritation during a workout, apply a cornstarch-based deodorant powder to the external genital area or sprinkle on panties or pantyliners.
Natural cornstarch powder, such as Vagisil® Deodorant Powder, absorbs moisture and odor from vaginal perspiration and discharge and can be used daily or whenever necessary to prevent feminine odor and whisk away wetness.

Wearing tight clothing and clothing made of non-breathable materials during a workout can create and trap excess moisture in the vaginal area where there are more sweat glands than the underarm area.
This creates an ideal environment for yeast and bacteria. Wear clothing made of cotton or other breathable materials to permit proper ventilation.
Wear workout gear that allows for easy movement and won't rub sensitive skin in the vaginal area.

Prolonged exposure to sweat-soaked workout clotheseven for as little as an hourcan lead to vaginal health problems.
It is important to remove all workout clothes, including underwear, and properly cleanse the vaginal area after an intense workout.
In a new study by the VWHC, 33 percent of women who partake in fitness activities continue to wear their workout clothes for at least an hour after they've finished working out.
This is not a good idea, says Adelaide Nardone, M.D., a board-certified gynecologist and medical advisor to the VWHC.

Appropriate after-workout cleansing of the vaginal area is as important as removing sweat-soaked workout clothes.
Soaps that contain harsh detergents or dyes can aggravate the already sensitive tissues of the vaginal area.
Safely and gently cleanse away feminine discharge and perspiration in the vaginal area with a mild soap or foam specially designed for this area of the body.
In addition to feminine protection products, a woman may carry a feminine cleanser in her gym bag in case there is no time to shower.
Vagisil Foaming Wash cleanses away odor and wetness and does not need water or rinsing.
Simply apply to toilet tissue and wipe for a fresh, clean feeling. It is small enough to stash in gym bags.

A crowded gym is likely to run out of towels fairly quickly, so pack a small face towel to mop up excess sweat in between routines.
A good gym will provide a large bath towel for showering.

Gym equipment is a breeding ground for germs.
While working out, people often sweat, cough or sneeze, leaving behind germs that can spread the common cold, influenza, skin infections and many other diseases.
Carry an antibacterial hand sanitizer so you don't have to stop to wash your hands in between sets.

For those who don't have time to shower after a workout, make sure to always carry an easy to use femine cleanser, such as Vagisil Foaming Wash, which cleanses away odor and wetness and does not need water or rinsing.
A new study done by the Vagisil Women's Health Center® reports that only five percent of women carry a feminine cleansing product in their gym bag, however, excess perspiration, such as that from a heavy workout, can lead to feminine itching, irritation or even infection if such steps are not taken.

Always pack an extra pair of underwear and socks for after your shower or in case your workout runs a little longer than planned and you don't have time to shower.
Changing underwear, along with use of a feminine cleanser, will help prevent excess odor and itching.

If you are running to the gym after work and haven't eaten in a while, it's good to carry an energy bar and bottle of water to replenish and prevent any dizzy spells that may be caused from a low blood sugar level.
